Victorian Brickwork Restoration in Wandsworth
This project involved the restoration of a tired early-1900s Victorian brick property in Wandsworth, London. The existing brickwork had weathered mortar joints, surface staining and a loss of its original character. Romero Contracts completed an external brick restoration package including careful brick cleaning, specialist treatment, steam cleaning, raking out defective mortar joints and traditional repointing. The aim was to restore the building’s appearance while protecting the masonry for the long term.
Work was planned around the age and condition of the existing bricks, with close attention to the finish and compatibility of the mortar joints. The completed façade is cleaner, more durable and respectful of the property’s Victorian character.
